NANA
Ohhhhh. Remember her tea, buttscotches, comic books. Her love and laughter
Our holidays were always with Nana no matter other family, friends goings on
Easter pictures all dressed up mom made us pretty dresses, skirts, gloves & purses. Proper ladies dressed
Her yard was the best to play, run in , hide and seek pretty flowers, bushes and porch sitting . we played on swing sets , trees crabapples to run thru, garden by the garage.
She had 3/4 wheelers we rode around in
Labor day was the fair, fireworks and parade watching sitting on the curb chasing candy, gum thrown. We'd walk down to the fair sno cones, trinkets. Fireworks later against baseball fence stop hot chocolate, butter scotches, always tissues in her sleeve, pockets.. Her ice tea !!!!!! It was instant but her mix could never be duplicated, like my Moms potato salad & Nana's caramel brownies
Full of love I guess makes them taste unique .. She had yard stake eggs with our names & plastic blow up bunnies. Christmas her red apron, light up table tree.thanksgiving prayers at each holiday . boyfriends, husbands have known her love and are also amazed by this little woman. Who taught us girls value, and morals though she didn't go to church as I remember & we still maintain our proper girls mannerisms . Wood fencing around living room by the tv , and rocker are full of memories her bookcase with elephants I remember and reading weekly comics in corner table saved for me I believe I don't remember the firestove even going much ..the windows around dining room and toy box in corner with dreaded paddle board. I don't think ever felt it but we always feared it and teased each other "gonna tell Nana" to sisters & cousins. My mom saved me from wasps, had worst car wreck memory where my mom got hit and bed rails to her head , ran up driveway cause she said "Go get Nana" .. I didn't drive much up that way as I got my car & life rushed by ... Another building gone from childhood hers, school, hospital, grandmas brewster now will be gone and we are all left with memories of ice tea, Christmas, fireworks, parades, Nana on her stool by kitchen counter and tears dry our eyes and it's just memories to keep and past is the past, future full of more memories & other buildings will be put in the past too .. But Nana will always be passed down of memories, love and treat others ad you want to be treated ... Ice tea, caramel brownies passed down ..another generation will hopefully remember our stories and keep passing them on as we too will fade and be another building gone
"Love you Nana always and miss you forever
Love AnnMargaret
